This store has earned the following certifications.
STEP 1: First, apply a spray lubricant to the back side threads of the bolts holding the left rear lock striker plate in place. Using the T40 star socket, remove the striker plate and discard the shims. Hold the GM1A-Rear Left bracket over the two striker plate holes. Reinstall the left side striker plate and bolts on top of the GM1A-Rear Left bracket. Hold the bracket firmly against the body of the door and retighten the star bit bolts.
STEP 2: Using the T27 star bit socket, remove the two latch bolts from the right rear door, leaving the 3rd screw in place to hold the latch. The weather stripping on the rear right door will need to be sliced through with a sharp utility knife. Hold the right rear door bracket up against the screw holes and mark the weather stripping from top to bottom in the location where the bracket passes through. Cut the rubber completely through along the retaining strip, and then cut another 1/8 inch away from the retaining strip and discard the piece. Install the right rear bracket through the weather stripping. Reinstall the two 6mm star head bolts using the T27 socket, but only hand-tighten this side.
CAUTION: Slowly close the left, then the right, door, making sure the weather stripping clears the left bracket. Once the doors are closed, align the lock holes with the RD Pin (dowel pin, drill bit, etc.). When you are satisfied with the alignment, slowly open the right side door and torque down both bolts. Shut the rear door firmly. If the lock fits nicely, move on to the side doors for installation of the brackets using the same process. If the lock is difficult to slide on and off or difficult to close, realign the right side until the desired fit is achieved. The brackets can also be modified with a round file or by drilling the center hole to accommodate various lock brands. Be careful not to damage your vehicle's painted finish.
PATENT: Complete vehicle security - locks, spinners, and covers included. No drilling required - mounts directly into factory holes. Locks keyed alike - Slick locks. Corrosion-resistant stainless steel blades manufactured in the USA. Chevy & GMC vans 1997 and newer with hinged rear and side doors.
